NFT Distribution has employment opportunities in a range of different roles within its operations functions at a variety of locations.

LGV Class C+E Drivers

NFT offers a range of flexible shift patterns starting at different times throughout the day. Drivers are guaranteed 45 hours per week (although many NFT Drivers choose to work more hours than this), working 4 or 5 shifts out of any 7-day period.

Driving roles involve either collecting product from manufacturers and delivering it to our customer’s distribution centres, or collecting product from the distribution centres and delivering it direct to stores, in our modern fleet of vehicles.

Our drivers have high standards. They are key to the success of our business. Their ability to develop positive relationships with our customers, their positive attitude, flexibility and professionalism together with their attention to detail with their communications with their depot and with the completion of paperwork are essential to the success and reputation of our Company.

Transport Assistant

Working with the transport office team this role involves assisting the Shift Manager in compiling and maintaining all documentation relating to the Transport Office Operation. In particular this will involve collating information for each delivery, controlling vehicle equipment, briefing drivers, agency driver control, liaison with drivers, planning department and delivery destinations, and highlighting operational problems and solutions to shift managers. Proactive problem solving is encouraged. This role involves working on a 4 on, 4 off rotating days and nights 12- hour shift basis


Reporting to the Shift Manager this role involves a variety of planning and expediting activities to co-ordinate and develop daily plans for the collection and distribution of product and equipment across the whole network in order to achieve customer objectives and maximise synergy benefits to the organisation.

In addition to producing daily depot plans, the planning function is responsible for scheduling and programming new work or changed requirements into the system, customer liaison, maintaining standards on our bespoke computerised operating systems (RRP and TRIP) and controlling resources.

Warehouse Operatives

This role involves working on a 4 on, 4 off rotating days and nights, 12-hour shift basis in our busy transhipment warehouses. Key to the success of our business is the ability to ensure that the right product is delivered to the right place at the right time.

Our Warehouse Operatives are key to the success of this. At peak times any number of vehicles can be awaiting loading or unloading, with product being marshalled in the warehouse or transferred from one vehicle to another. Our Warehouse Operatives’ attention to detail and maintenance of our warehouse procedures ensures that we continue to deliver our customer’s product.

Warehouse Supervisor

Reporting to the Shift Manager this role involves managing the activities of the warehouse personnel to achieve and exceed agreed levels and targets for productivity, service and safety.

Specific responsibilities include organising work by prioritising, scheduling and allocating tasks to warehouse staff to ensure that the key performance ratios of the operation are achieved, implementing all depot policies, procedures and standards and, leading and motivating a team.

Shift Manager

This role involves managing and taking full responsibility for the whole operation. Primary responsibilities include planning the effective use of resources, customer liaison, all aspects of people management, ensuring the operation conforms to legislation, equipment hire, maintaining a safe working environment and controlling costs. This role requires the ability to exercise sound judgement in a pressured environment.

Employees will receive support and training throughout their employment with the Company, which will include assessment and feedback by management and, where appropriate, the opportunity to progress to other roles.
